Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March 1998), known professionally as Grimes is a Canadian performer, singer songwriter, and record producer. [2][3] The range of her early music was described as "lo the fi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has included elements of hip-hop electronic music, as well as rock. Many of her lyrics focus on sci-fi themes as well as feminist issues. There have been five albums. Grimes came from Vancouver then moved to Montreal. Her first independent music career in late early 2000s. In 2010, she released two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. In 2012, Visions is her 3rd studio release. The band was signed to 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and won the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. [5] Following this, she released her fourth studio album Art Angels, was released in 2015 and received high praise from critics as several publications have rated it as the best album of the year. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Aside from the music industry, Grimes had a voice role in the 2020 online action-role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the competition for musicians game program Alter Ego.
