Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn, an American actress who has worked in film and television in theatre as well as film and television. From the age 27 she has been a professionally active thespian. She began her career in 1990, in a non Broadway production called The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. In the following year she was cast in her first TV role in The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, she received her big break when she was cast in the film Basic Instinct as a secondary character. The Firm is where she made her debut as a female actor in the film alongside Tom Cruise & Gene Hackman. The 90s saw her working alongside some of the top actors in Hollywood, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Hugh Grant. Recently, she was the character Dr. Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
